Abstract

Consuming drinks containing alcohol excessively in traditional herbal medicine drinks or concoctions is still common in society. This excessive consumption causes behavioral changes, cognitive emotions, and death. This final project produces a design tool for detecting the alcohol content of the herbal brew method using Fuzzy C-Means to process data through calculations and using the Matlab 2013 Software simulation from the results of the data in the test. Each test takes 10 minutes, the accuracy of measuring alcohol content occurs at 3 to 9 minutes. Based on the results of calculations and software simulations, the iteration stops at the 12th iteration with the calculation of the objective function value = 0.00074 <error = 0.001. From the clustering results obtained 8 data on group A, 9 data on group B and 13 data on group C. This research produced a tool for detecting the alcohol content of herbal brew using Arduino Uno and the MQ3 sensor which has a high level of sensitivity to alcohol. This tool can detect the level of alcohol in herbal brew through liquid or breath odor. The higher the sensor output, the higher the alcohol concentration obtained.
