Abstract

The assignment problem stems from the placement of workers in available fields so that the costs borne by the company can be minimized. Assignment problems are often encountered in the business world, one of which is found in PT. Bumi Ronamegah Cipta which is engaged in general contractor business. The company must place the project team on the project that should be so that it gets the optimal cost. Therefore, an assignment problem is needed. The Hungarian and Penalty methods are different methods for solving assignment problems. The Hungarian method begins by subtracting the value in the row and column with the smallest cost, while the penalty starts by finding the penalty value in each column and row. Based on the results of this study, the Hungarian method and the penalty method resulted in the same optimal allocation of assignments, with a minimum overall cost of Rp. 2,567,900,000. The Hungarian method gets the optimal solution in the fifth iteration, while the penalty method gets the optimal solution when looking for the initial solution or it can also be called the first iteration. And previously this company spent Rp. 2,628,000,000. so the Cost Ratio of both is 2.28%. The difference is at least able to cover other operating costs. From the three methods, it can be concluded that the Penalty Method is a faster method to solve assignment problems at PT. Earth Ronamegah Cipta.
