Abstract

The controversial phenomenon of the existence of slum villages in urban strains has always been a hard problem in urban areas in almost every decade of leadership and has never been completely resolved. Given the development of the slum in decades, it is always getting denser. Because of that, students, as the younger generation, will have access to increase the number of places to live in slum village of Stren Kali. So the purpose of this study was to find out how the student’s opinion about the existence of the slum village of Stren Kali. By using the survey methodology, it is hoped that it can explore objectively how the opinions of students as the younger generation in responding to the problems of urban slum villages, with quantitative descriptive analysis techniques, which use percentage data in the form of a circle diagram. With the research location at Bhayangkara University, Surabaya. And the results of our research show that the student opinion on the slum settlement of Kali Stren is that it does not support the existence of slum settlements in Stren Kali, because it is not a comfortable place to live.
