Abstract
The existence of Instagram becomes one of the methods to build personal branding, a freewilling account @sobatgiring from Giring Ganesha, a young Indonesian politician, whom tries to build and to strengthen his personal branding in the political world. The purpose of this research is to understand the usage of Instagram to ease the aim of personal branding. On this research, author uses qualitative method by using descriptive approach. The data was collected by doing observation and documentation. Giring Ganesha sees it as the chance to use Instagram as his platform to build his personal branding together with the account @sobatgiring helping him to upload his contents which shows his political agenda with his political relations and people. Features available on Instagram, such as videos or photos, reels, instastories and also captions, are being used and created as interesting as possible to attract people and make them wonder more about Giring Ganesha in Indonesian political world. Started his career as a musician was a good start for him to build his personal branding in the political world. People’s perceptions of him as a musician have helped him to use music and his talent to find the different approach to reach the citizens with uniqueness and creativity in building his personal branding.
