Abstract
In many countries, there is a gap between the skills possessed by the labor force and the demands of the job market. Technological changes and economic shifts have resulted in the demand for different skills. Many workers do not have skills that match the jobs available, while jobs that require certain skills are difficult to fill. This creates a gap that needs to be addressed through effective job training. Descriptive qualitative research is a research method based on the philosophy of postpositivism which is often referred to as the interpretive and constructive paradigm, which views social reality. descriptive research does not provide treatment, manipulation or alteration of the variables studied. Instead, it describes a condition as it is. The only treatment given is the research itself, which is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The purpose of the application of the pastry vocational competency�based job training program organized by the Sidoarjo Regency Manpower Office to the Gedangan community is as a form of effort from the Sidoarjo Regency Manpower Office to reduce unemployment by providing knowledge and skills in the pastry field to the Gedangan community. In that case, the implementation of this pastry vocational competency-based job training program was made by the Sidoarjo Regency Manpower Office to provide pportunities for people in the Gedangan District environment to gain knowledge and skills and also get training certificates that they can use both to enter the pastry industry or who want to start their own business.
