Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is still far from over, as can be seen from the news about the disease that began to spread from Wuhan, which is still busy adorning the media, especially in Indonesia. One of them is a video showing the anger of President Joko Widodo during a plenary meeting at the State Palace criticizing his cabinet's performance in handling the viral Covid-19 pandemic, inviting various comments from several parties. This incident also did not escape the media coverage. This study analyzes the news about President Joko Widodo's anger. The identification of the news was taken from three online media namely Kompas.com, JawaPos.com, and Tempo.co using four dimensions of Robert Entman's framing analysis model, namely: Define problem, Diagnose cause, Make moral judgment, and Treatment recommendation. The approach in this research is qualitative. The results of this study indicate that the three online media above have their respective points of view in reporting the anger of President Joko Widodo during the plenary meeting. Kompas.com focuses more on the events and causes of President Joko Widodo's anger in his speech, Jawa Pos also only inserts criticisms quoted from several sources, while Tempo's reporting tends to contain harsh criticisms of President Joko Widodo and the performance of his ministers in dealing with Covid-19.
