Abstract

In general, externality is a positive or negative impact or in formal economic parlance net cost or benefit from the actions of one party towards another party. Externalities occur if the production or consumption activities of one party affect the utility (usefulness) of the other party undesirablely, and the party making the externality does not provide compensation to the affected party. The existence of the Bratang Surabaya culinary tourism center has a positive and negative impact on the income of culinary traders. The formulation of the problem of this thesis is how the impact of economic externalities on the income of culinary traders in the culinary tourism center of Bratang Surabaya. The purpose of this thesis is (1) to find out and analyze economic externalities to the development and growth of culinary traders in the culinary tourism center of Bratang Surabaya. (2) to find out and analyze the impact of economic externalities on the income of culinary traders at the Culinary Tourism Center bratang Surabaya. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method, the data used is primary data, primary data is obtained from interviews with merchants and consumers. Based on the results of the study obtained that there are positive and negative impacts, namely a strategic location, employment, air pollution from cigarette smoke and the unavailability of a special four-wheeled parking lot. The externalities caused by the Bratang Surabaya culinary tourism center have an impact on increasing merchant income where in 2018 the smallest merchant income is IDR 108,000,000 / year and in 2022 the highest income is IDR 150,000,000 for approximately 5 months of selling.
