Abstract

Besides YouTube content providers with illegal use of songs that provide free access, they seek profit by facilitating certain companies through advertising on YouTube so that it can be judged that there is no income from the public as viewers, but they can earn income through rental companies that advertise. on their YouTube. YouTube content providers with the use of songs without permission is said to be illegal because not a penny of the money generated from the operation of the paid content is deposited with the song production house. Therefore, the author determines the formulation of the problem, namely regarding legal protection for song copyright holders for copyright infringement in cyberspace and legal responsibility for free song download service providers against copyright infringement through the youtube channel in internet media which is carried out illegally. In this study, the authors use the Juridical-Normative Research method where the legal materials obtained are sourced from secondary legal materials and take a statutory approach and a case approach. In this study, using a descriptive analytical specification to get answers from the problem formulation that has been determined by the author.
