Abstract

find out whether the policy of canceling Hajj and Umrah departures during the Covid-19 pandemic carried out by the government is appropriate. To find out legal protection according to Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning Cancellation of Departure of Candidates for Hajj and Umrah Pilgrims during the Covid-19 Pandemic Period. Research is also called a logical examination method to observe reality, and is based on scientific logic from a normative side. Decrees of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia Number 494 of 2020 and 660 of 2021 concerning the cancellation of the departure of Hajj pilgrims, there are also government considerations for the cancellation, namely the threat to the health, welfare and safety of travelers due to the Covid-19 pandemic that hit.
