Abstract

The energy crisis demands the development of an alternative energy that can meet daily needs. One waytosolve the problem of the energy crisis is to find alternative energy that comes from biomass. Corn cob wasteisone of the potential biomass wastes in Indonesia. Biobriquette manufacturing techniques are widely available. Making biobriquettes itself requires supporting materials such as starch glue and other mixing materials suchas wood shavings. The composition of these materials is highly dependent on the type of raw material for themanufacture of biobriquettes. The corncobs are first converted into charcoal by burning for several hours, thenthe charcoal is mashed, and mixed with starch glue and then put in a mold and then pressed. The reasonforchoosing corn cobs as the main ingredient is because it is abundant and not optimal in its use and can evenbesaid to be unused. The method of activity is carried out through four stages, namely the preparation, implementation, implementation, and evaluation stages. The results of the activity show that the youth youthgroup has been able to make and market this corn cob biobriquette and is used as a youth group activity that will be able to increase cash.
